Hannibal Lecter or Barbie? Either Way, She's Gone from 'Hell's Kitchen'

Last night's "Hell's Kitchen" was much of the disaster you might expect, with a twist that for me seemed a surprise. The wannabe chefs got roused out of bed early to wade through all the food that was wasted. We got a blurry view of a part of Black Gordon Ramsay's anatomy as he was sorting through stuff. The guys and the girls had a challenge where they had to cut halibut into six-ounce portions. Both sides tied, and the men won the tiebreak of picking out a piece closest to six ounces. As a reward they got to yacht with Ramsay while the women had to prepare a whole lot of fish and make fish stock. Strangely for losers, they were trying to brag about the kitchen being "their house," which prompted typical sexism. Dinner service was a disaster and service got shut down again. Corey nominated Christina and Jen for elimination, telling Ramsay that it wasn't because she thought they sucked. Which led to Ramsay picking Sharon.

Here's what she had to say about her "HK" misadventures:

MSN: So Sharon, sorry to see you get booted off "Hell's Kitchen" last night. That was a bit of a surprise.

Sharon: I know. I was shocked, too.

MSN: Why do you think Chef Ramsay went out of his way to pick you out?

Sharon: Just like I said on the show, I didn't get a fair shot because he judged me by the way I looked, I feel like.

MSN: Maybe you should have dirtied yourself up or something.

Sharon: [Laughs] I think I did dirty myself up. I didn't have time to get ready before we dug in the trash and stuff. [Laughs].

MSN: So why did you want to be on the show in the first place?

Sharon: I wanted to get my own restaurant. That was my goal.

MSN: How likely did you think you were to win?

Sharon: Well, going on the show, I was hoping to go all the way. I was thinking like that all the time until last night.

MSN: What was your signature dish again and what was Ramsay's reaction to it?

Sharon: My signature dish was stuffed chicken breast, gouda cheese.  ... Oh my God, I can't even remember right now. I had asparagus and spinach in a white wine sauce and he said I should have done something better for "Hell's Kitchen."

MSN: What did you learn from your time on "Hell's Kitchen?"

Sharon: I think it was definitely a learning experience. I think it's going to make me just want to better myself.

MSN: How's it feel that Ramsay said you fundamentally can't cook?

Sharon: It made me feel horrible, because I'm a chef in Vegas. I felt horrible.

MSN: What was the worst thing Ramsay said or did to you besides that?

Sharon: All the name-calling, Hannibal Lecter, Barbie, Vegas showgirl. [Laughs]. The makeup comments. They made it sound like that's all I cared about, that I was putting on my makeup constantly.

MSN: One thing the show caught you doing was you had cooked meat next to raw meat. What was going on there?

Sharon: I was using that cutting board for the raw meat, but he sent me back cooked meat because the other girl who was on fish, her dish wasn't ready yet. So he just gave it back to me and I just wasn't thinking. I sat it right down to cut it.

MSN: So if you could undo any of the mistakes during your time on "Hell's Kitchen," what would you undo?

Sharon: Obviously, that. It's hard to say, because you're under pressure at the moment and there's [not] a lot of time to think. We didn't have time to study menus and stuff. I think I would have tried to look at the menu longer. Or maybe not worn makeup. I don't know. [Laughs].

MSN: Who do you think should have gone home if not you?

Sharon: At the time, they didn't really show her, but Rosann, I don't think she did good, because we didn't get our orders. Two hours after the service had started,  she hadn't even brought us a ticket.

MSN: Who do you think is most likely to win the show?

    Sharon: I'm rooting for Louross.

    MSN: Why him?

Sharon: I think he's a good cook, and that's why I'm rooting for him.

MSN: How has being on the show changed your opinion of Chef Ramsay or the show itself?

Sharon: I'm still a fan of the show. I'm still going to watch the show. He's a lot harsher than I thought. I think most of the time when you watch the show, you think, "Damn, those people can't cook," because you don't see what goes on, what it takes. It's like cooking to the extreme.
