'Project Runway': State of the Runway
It seems like forever since there's been a new "Project Runway." It's only been two weeks, though. Does it feel longer to you guys, too? I found myself sort of thinking, "Okay, who's still in it?" this morning, so I decided to do a round up of my five favorite looks from the season so far. I've also thrown in my five least favorite because, well, I found those pretty naturally while I was looking for the ones I liked.
Five faves
1. Chris and Christian's couture gown. Come on, it's fabulous, dare I say fierce. It's also insane! They used seventy five yards of fabric to make it!
2. Christian's look for the real woman challenge. It's cool, it's wearable, and it's still him somehow.
3. Jillian and Victorya's coat for the couture challenge. It's decadent and tough!
4. Sweet Pea's denim dress from the Levi's challenge. I know it started out as a disaster - remember when she was making a wedding dress?!? - but the end product is pretty and cool-looking, a great spring dress.
5. Sweet Pea's "real" look for the couture challenge. (I love how 60% of the stuff I like came from that episode.) It's a nice dress, it's interesting. The judges liked it better than Rami's couture design, and no wonder.
Five looks I hate
1. Ricky's Oompa-Loompa dress from the Hershey's challenge. Baaaad.
2. Christian's dress from the Hershey's challenge. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Cruella De Vil.
3. Ricky's dress from the Levi's challenge. Yes, I know it was the winning design. I still hate it. It's totally 80s in a totally bad way. The Amy Winehouse bouffant is just the icing on a very bad cake.
4. Victorya's dress from the prom challenge. I hate the color, the silhouette, and the beads she used. Plus she might have gotten the idea from another "Project Runway" contestant.
5. Chris's dress from the real woman challenge. I hate to agree with Michael Kors but it really is Shirley MacLaine is a hooker with a heart of gold. No bows, Chris! No bows, no sequins, no wigs.
So, that's my take on the season so far. I'm sure you guys have your own favorites and least favorites. We'd love to hear about them. "Project Runway" is back tonight with a new episode...about wrestling.
