Yes, I Liked 'Crowned'

49589 I told you last week that I wasn't going to watch "Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants" because I hate beauty pageants. And I do! But after reading Raoul's hilarious indictment of the show I got pretty curious about it. The CW ran the first episode again last night, and so I watched it.

I watched it and, oh, I confess, I kind of liked it.

There were some great heroes and villains on "Crowned: The Mother of All Absurdity." I loved spaced-out but sincere mother-daughter team Pamela and Felicia (Tomboy Queens) and down-to-Earth Gina and Hollis (Dream Gals). I loved to hate bitchy, overplucked Patty and Laura (Redhead Bombshells). There was this scene where Laura woke up everyone in the house singing scales at 7:30 in the morning. The girl has got quite a voice. I don't mean that as a compliment. In fact, her voice practice was just like the singing lessons scene from Cinderella...which makes her Anastasia and her mom Drusilla? That seems about right.

The judges were okay, too. They certainly didn't skimp on sarcasm, especially good old Carson. This could all get old pretty fast, but for now I'm digging the trainwreck that is "Crowned."
