Random happenings in TV land today …
- Jerry Seinfeld will guest on the Oct. 21 episode of "Talkshow with Spike Feresten," the new late-night series by the writer of the famous Soup Nazi episode of "Seinfeld."
- "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" director Amy Heckerling is heading back to the '80s with a new "Wonder Years" and "Everybody Hates Chris"-ish series called "1985," about a teenager growing up in the age of Reagan, "Family Ties" and my all-time favorite sports team, the Kansas City Royals, who won their first World Series that year.
- Imagine a series with the intensity of "24," but told in reverse, a la "Memento," and you've got an in-development NBC thriller called "Deadline," developed by actor/director Peter Berg ("Friday Night Nights" movie). Sounds promising.
- If the fictional "Desperate Housewives" and women of "The O.C.," plus the reality show stars of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" aren't enough for ya, HBO's developing a new series about the "Buckhead Betties" of Atlanta.
- EW.com "Lost" expert Jeff Jensen has seen the season premiere, and he's got teasers.
- Hilarious: "Arrested Development" and "Freak Show" star David Cross tries to crash a Jim Belushi concert in this YouTube clip.
- And wanna celebrate the new season of "Battlestar Galactica" with your fellow "BG"-devoted? Invite yourself to a local Frak Party.
