    Miscellaneous Musings

WTH! Another "Survivor" winner accused of a crime. This time it's Brian Heidik allegedly shooting a puppy with an arrow, instead of the relatively understandable if pathetic attempt to cheat on one's taxes. If true, I hope they throw the book at him.

While we colonials are still a while away from seeing season 2 of "Doctor Who," the BBC announced they'd picked the woman who would be the new Companion for everyone's favorite Time Lord. Oddly, they cast an actress who appears in the current season and whose character dies. One would think they wouldn't have to recycle actresses so soon. Prepare for complaints about political correctness, since she's biracial.

Apparently movement is afoot on making "V - The  Second Generation." It's been ages since I saw the original "V" and all I really remember is Diana chowing on white mice, but I'm pro-sci-fi of almost any sort.

The world has been spared a second season of "Britney and Kevin: Chaotic."

The Houston Chronicle offers up this list of the most despicable characters on TV (presumably) from last season. I find it hard to believe that they didn't include rapist Tommy Gavin from "Rescue Me," but maybe the critic in question hadn't caught up with that show this season, or maybe he didn't want too much of the list to consist of FX programming. (Also on the list are Vic Mackey of "The Shield," the cast of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," and Christian from "Nip/Tuck.")
