    Channel Surfing--June 9, 2006

Random happenings in TV land today …

    - Viewers voted for Kathy Griffin to make a sex tape with Dame Judi Dench as a way of moving up from the D-list, and here it is, sorta, at PerezHilton.com.

    - If you haven't check out AOL's super cool and addictive In2TV since it launched, it's time for a visit. The site now includes episodes of old reality TV shows and short-lived series in the "brilliant, but canceled" vein.

This is too cute: Animal Planet is hosting its own reality show, "Meow Mix House," where a group of rescued kitties will live, until, one by one, they're voted off and sent to live with a family who will adopt them. The show, which premieres on June 16, is the best idea since the network's "Puppy Bowl" specials.

    - This year's Harvard grads got a commencement address from Stewie, a.k.a. "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane.

    - Dana Delaney's sorry she turned down the role of Bree on "Desperate Housewives." Duh.

    - Charlie Rose returns to work next week, after his recent heart surgery.

    - Stephanie Tanner! Does Uncle Jesse know what you're up to, hosting a music video strip show?!?!

    - They fight on "American Idol," which Simon Cowell has shrewdly calculated might translate well on British TV, too, as he has reportedly asked "AI" co-judge Paula Abdul to join him on his British talent search series.

    - "CSI," all three of 'em, are now available on iTunes.

    - Jeff Zucker, NBC honcho, has not only inspired his own version of the Peter Principle, but now there's a "Fire Jeff Zucker" Website devoted to all things Zucker and unspectacular surrounding NBC's fall from atop the ratings heap.

    - If there's a more heinous talking head than Ann Coulter, who has put her foot in her obnoxious mouth again and again this week, I hope we're not subjected to his or her desperate rantings, too. If you missed Coulter's rudeness with Matt Lauer on "Today" this week (just one of her not-so-great "hits" while promoting her new book), check it out at iFilm.com.

    - And, for something, thankfully, completely different, must-see-TV this weekend includes replays of "The Showbiz Show with David Spade," (Sunday, 1 a.m. ET) with a very special guest in the "Showbiz Show" audience (he'll make you giggle); a new season of "Bridezillas" on WE (Sunday, 10 p.m.); the "Doctor Who" season finale (Sci-Fi, tonight, 9 p.m.) sets us up to get used to a new Who next season; and HBO kicks off its new Sunday night line-up with the season premiere of "Deadwood" (Sunday, 9 p.m.), followed by the new season of "Entourage" (10 p.m.), and the series premieres of "Lucky Louie" (10:30 p.m.) and "Dane Cook's Tourgasm" (11 p.m.).
