Chop, Chop, Time to Get Cooking!
Remember "The Chopping Block," the new "Hell's Kitchen" meets "Top Chef" cooking show with Britain's Marco Pierre White? It's finally starting tonight at 8:00 on NBC.
I say "Hell's Kitchen" and "Top Chef" because those are big shows, but "The Chopping Block" is really an unabashed rip-off of BBC America's "Last Restaurant Standing."
On that show, each team was given an empty restaurant space and had to get up and running in about a week. The teams were made up of "couples," i.e. people with real-life relationships (friends, married couples, what have you). This is a lot more interesting than strangers!
"The Chopping Block" is doing the same sort of thing, albeit with only two restaurants. There are four couples on each team so that will probably be...chaotic? Stressful! Fight-y!
Furthermore, Marco Pierre White is the original bad boy British chef (and happens to have replaced Gordon Ramsay on "Kitchen Nightmares" across the pond). He got his first Michelin star at the age of, like, twelve and has been a holy terror ever since! He has a temper. Oh, sure, everyone has a temper. Marco Pierre White cut a dude's chef jacket off! Also, look at that picture. Does a happy person make that face?
If I haven't convinced you yet, check out this preview video. Scallops! Chicken piccata! Oh, I think there will be yelling tonight.
