9月3日 '90210:' Haaaated It!Oh, dear. I wanted to like the new "90210," I really did. You guys may remember that Raoul came down on The CW pretty hard for refusing to let critics screen the show and I was like, "Oh, that doesn't necessarily mean it's bad." Well, this round goes to Raoul. The show was not good. I thought all the shout outs - "What is that girl, 30?" - and characters from the original - Erin Silver! Jackie and Mel's baby! - would be cool, but they felt forced. The overall effect was a lot more cheeseball Brady Bunch Movie than, say, slick, sexy "Battlestar Galactica." If that had been the only problem I could have lived with it. Alas, the show cannot stand on its own two feet. Dixon and Annie were both lame, lame, lame. "Melrose Place" guy and Becky from "Full House" have no chemistry whatsoever. Actually, the interactions between all the Millses were corny and unbelieveable. Kansas? More like Stepford. Only bitchy grandma stood out as a potential human being. Naomi, Ethan, George and the other rich kids were completely one-dimensional. (Dick Casablancas, wherefore art thou?) The "cool" English teacher was such a cliche. Even the clothes were boring! I've sat here staring at the screen for five minutes now trying to come up with something positive to say about the show.
