Random happenings in TV land today …
- Vote in USA Today's Save Our Shows 2007 poll, where you can vote yay or nay on every on-the-bubble series on TV.
- More interactive fun: Take a stab at this TV theme song quiz.
- This sounds about right: Kelly Ripa's husband and former "All My Children" co-star is going to be hosting a reality dating show.
- I don't know that I would have used the word msogynist, as this New York Times review does, but I was so bored with the "Painkiller Jane" pilot, with its rambling storyline, stilted acting and plethora of clichés, that I fell asleep while watching a preview of it.
- Wanna know who's been defending bounced talking head Don Imus? Radar Online's got the rundown.
- Speaking of bounced, ousted "American Idol" contestant Haley Scarnato 'fessed up that she had been re-using Katherine McPhee's hair extensions. Ew. That show makes a gazillion dollars, and they can't afford fresh faux hair??
- Simon Cowell … game show contestant??!? It's true.
- Remember the Oprah blackmail scandal? It's a pretty sleazy situation to be sure, but there seems to be some sort of info that the Oprah machine doesn't want the public to know.
- If you want to see how "Six Degrees" plays out, ABC will unspool the remaining five episodes at ABC.com, one new episode each week, beginning April 27.
- And "Reno 911!" star and writer Thomas Lennon says there will be a "Reno" movie sequel, and this time, the wacky cops will be headed Down Under.
